Quiet Time

Some of you may be wondering what is going on and where I have been. No, I'm not on vacation. I certainly wish I was some place other than sub-freezing temperatures, but I'm still here. Last week was a work week for me (sort of a surprise with last minute deadlines), so that took up the majority of my time. Another reason it has been a little quiet here is because I've made some MAJOR changes in my computer activity. In order to spend more quality time with my family and be more productive during the day, I have decided to banish the computer to a new mobile office out of the dining room. I found myself spending WAY too much time surfing in front of the t.v. While I love my blogging, e-mail, and mindless web-surfing... I have to admit that changing my habits has greatly reduced my daily stress.

Don't get me wrong; I still will be getting in my computer time. I'm cutting back, but could never give it up. What I'm trying to do is restrict my non-work computer time to only when the kids are sleeping. Troy still takes a pretty good nap during the day and both go to bed really early. Tim and I are also going to try to start shutting down by 9pm every night so we can spend at least 1 hour together without being distracted by our technology.

With less time in front of the computer, I'm going to try to focus myself a little more. I'm working on a list of topics I want to blog about and am going to try to develop ideas more carefully. I'm sure I'll still post great deals when I find them, but I also want to explore other budget related topics. While I'm getting organized, I'd like to ask for any ideas or topics you might have questions about or would be interested in hearing my view on. Please leave a comment or send me an e-mail if there is any thing specific you'd like to hear more about.

Thanks!

I can totally relate!

I have cut down my computer time also, just because I feel like I spend way to much time on it.

As far as your question, I always like to see what people have on their weekly menu. I'm always on the lookout for something new. :)

Hi Angie!

I think this is a great idea and totally support the idea of "quality not quantity," even on the internet!

Most of the blogs I like best are the ones that discuss peoples' thoughts about what they are doing and the actual how-to aspects of them. (That way its not necessarily only for people who live in your area.) So, just as a suggestion, to me it would be cool if every week you took one of the New Year's Resolutions that you set and gave an upadte on how it's going.

Great job!
