After a couple e-mails and some discussions, we've set the schedule for the FPU Alumni Summer Series.
June 2nd - Living the "single" life: Tips and tricks for budgeting on a single (or reduced) income
July 7th - Filling in the gaps: A look at some of the things Dave didn't talk about in FPU.
August 4th - Help for the holidays: How to avoid sticker shock during the holidays.
I'm excited about having specific topics and hope it will generate some interest with the members of the church as well. We've talked to the Communications Director and will be getting some extra publicity for the upcoming events. Our group has always sort of been a quiet church bulletin announcement, but hopefully that will change starting this Sunday.
The format is an open forum discussion. We'll provide some material and research, but we really look for additional ideas, help, and feedback from the rest of the group. While I could talk for hours, I really enjoy hearing other peoples suggestions and tips even more.
The church provides childcare (for free) and welcomes any one who wants to attend, so we might try promoting the event to other churches as well. If you live in the area, registration will be available soon...
