What kind are you?

We had a garage sale this weekend. It was actually quite successful. The main goal was to get rid of all the excess stuff in our house, but we were hoping for some extra cash too. We hit my goal by the end of the day on Friday, so I was thrilled. I still have a lot to get rid of, so I'm going to add it to my mom's upcoming sale. After that, the rest goes to charity. I'm thinking about trying to find a better place than Goodwill for some of the stuff - like the baby clothes. I'm sure there are shelters that would be looking for stuff like that.

As always, 75% of our extra income will be going to debt. I think the rest will be put in a clothes account to buy bigger sizes for the kiddos when they need it.

So, here's my question - what kind of garage saler are you? Do you take a good deal when you see it? Do you barter, no matter how cheap? Do you buy cheap with hopes of reselling higher later?

I'm really not into garage sales, so I never go. There's something about the whole process that grosses me out. If I'm going to buy used, I go to a consignment shop, pick out expensive brands, and pay what they are asking.
